Some people are so mean, and force you to write sequels even when you say no. When I posted Imagination's Call on the LMBs, not many people read it. But they all loved it and demanded a sequel. So, I bring you Endless.

Endless - The Sequel to Imagination's Call Empty Chapter 1 - Never Forget

Post  Cheesey Thu Feb 21, 2013 9:13 am

    Chapter 1

As the engines started, a tear rolled down Jonathan's cheek. Alyss took his hand as he looked back on the tower for the last time. The familiar glow of the Imagination Nexus was gone from the tower, but the tower itself still stood, magnificent as it had and would always be. Jonathan, Alyss, Bricks, and Drake would have the picture of the tower fading into the clouds imprinted in their minds for the rest of their lives. The ship rumbled forward and Nexus Tower, Avant Gardens, Nimbus Station, and everything disappeared.

The travel continued with no excitement. The blank darkness stretching before the Venture Explorer seemed infinite. Only stars could share their brilliance in the vast emptiness.

Jonathan stared out into the sea of night, unblinking, but deep in thought, while Alyss quietly cried into his shoulder. The entire ship was filled with mixed emotions. Their home for the past years was gone forever, as the Universe was saved. No one knew if they should be overjoyed or melancholy. Besides a few restrained whispers and the ever present tumult of the star ship's massive engines, all was silent.

Jonathan had no idea what life would be like now. After his adventure in the Crux System, he knew nothing would be the same. His battles and missions had changed him. He was now returning to the home on which he had been recruited by the Nexus Force so long ago: LEGO City.

The ship continued its lengthy journey back to Earth. Jonathan and his old team hardly said anything. Jonathan remained looking at the portal. He caught sight of a bright red pip floating absently in nothingness. Using his Imagination, he brought it toward the ship. It floated right through the iron armor into his lap. He took out a bag, one of the few possessions he brought back from the Crux System. It was a large bag a bricks. He opened the drawstrings sealing the bag and weird inside. The contents included a thousand or so white bricks, and a painting kit to design the bricks. He longed for his property back in Avant Gardens, one of the few places he had ever felt safe. But that was all gone now.

He retightened the drawstrings and put the worn bag back into his pack. He reclined his seat and layed back. As his eyes began to close his eyes, everything that had happened over the past two years appeared to him in flashes: The Venture Explorer coming to LEGO City, the Maelstrom crashing it, his first missions, meeting Drake, Bricks, Alyss, and the deceitful Fred, the battles, and the war for Imagination. Then the face of the Darkitect outside Nexus Tower. The scenes flashed in and out all the time. He would never forget.

    Never.

    Thanks, Brick!

    Chapter 2

-Two weeks earlier, the Battle for the Universe, Nexus Tower-

The huge dragon dived into the blast doors of Nexus Tower, shattering them to pieces. The Stromling ducked as a metallic brick went wizzing over his head. There was nearly complete silence as the dust cleared. The tower was ready to be taken.

Controlled by his chaotic DNA, he raced in, seeking to destroy everything. The sounds of battle returned: the clash of swords, the shouts and cries of the wounded, the blasts of gunfire.

The Stromling lashed out at any minifig who came across his path. He eventually reached the crashed doors, wounded and bleeding a purple ooze, but very much alive. He smacked a minifig's gun out of his hands and jumped up atop of the dead dragon. As he tried to shoot away at his enemies, his terrible aim, however, saw him shooting both friend and foe alike.

The battle continued with large losses on both sides. Then the Darkitect came, and the Stromling knew that they had won the battle. He continued blasting away on the tip if the dragon's spiked head. Many minifig's had tried to come up and bring him down, but the Stromling easily shot them aside from his vantage point.

Suddenly, the Darkitect blasted the tower a terrible, corrupting, unmaking power. The purple stream smashed into the tower, totally destroying the bottom supports. The chaotic force continued moving toward the center of the tower, destroying anything in it's path. As it hit the Imagination Nexus, the tower began to be ripped apart from the inside.

The Stromling began glowing a bright purple, and all his wounds healed. He turned back to the Nexus Force and shot them as they stared, horrified, into the Imagination Nexus.

He began to slide as the tower tilted dangerously forward. He jumped off and met no resistance to his presence. The minifigs were trying to escape the doomed tower. The Stromling realized he had to get scarce, too. He heard a crash beside him as another dragon fell. He scurried over to investigate. He climbed the dragon's large, scaly back and peered over. There were four minifigs with jetpacks, and another trailing them not far behind. As he continued to watch, he saw them all leap off the front of the tower. Silly minifigures. He thought. They stand no chance against my master.

    Snap!

The metal playing bracing the tower continued to bend and break. The Stromling fell off the dragon and went tumbling toward the launchpads. The tower was coming down fast.

He slammed into the railings around the middle launchpad. He hung on for dear life. If he let go, he'd be falling to the hard rocky surface of Crux Prime.

Then the dragon began to slide down the launchpad.

The Stromlimg panicked. He'd be crushed and killed. He stared with wide eyes as the dead creature smashed through what remained of the launchpad. Seeing no alternative, he lept off the launchpad. As he fell, he saw the five minifigs he had seen earlier in an arrow-like formation. They linked hands, and the from the front most minifig came a dazzling brilliant white-blue light. The wind still flying madly at him he passed out. The last thing he felt was if he was being ripped apart, as if the chaotic part had been destroyed.

    Chapter 3

"I can't do this!" Duke shouted. "We have to do something - there must be a way...."

He sat back down at the meeting table for the faction leaders.

"We can't send a scout back. It's too late now," Doc. Overbuild said. "And anyways, whoever went on the trip would want to stay there. It just wouldn't work."

"How many didn't make it to the ship?" Hael asked.

"The casualties throughtout our time in the Crux System amount to over two thousand. We couldn't take them back with us." said Doc. Overbuild.

Duke threw his head into his hands and sighed deeply. "What are we going to say? Minifigs gave their lives to create a new life for everyone. They should be honored with at least a proper funeral!" Duke lept up, fuming. "I will give them the respect they deserve, even if you refuse!" he shouted, pointing at Overbuild and Hael.

"I too feel the need to honor them, but - " Doc. Overbuild started.

"I WATCHED SO MANY OF MY FACTION DIE!" Duke cut him short. "I almost watched Jonathan and Drake go, too! The Nexus Force is falling apart, wether you like it or not! I'm going to fix this, even if you won't!"

He stormed out of the private room, slamming the door behind him. Several minifigs in the main part of the ship jumped as the heard the crash.

Back in the room, Vanda stood up. She had remained silent the entire debate. "The Nexus Force is falling apart. Although the threat is gone, we must stick together. We may have not seen the end of the Maelstrom."

Hael nodded slowly. Overbuild was still looking at the door. "Yes." he agreed, turning around to face the other two faction leaders. "We can't let this fall apart.... Everything we did be forgotten.... The legend can live on. Duke was right. We should go back and honor the fallen. It can draw us together, remind us that their sacrifice brought us hope and a new world of safety...."
